2008 was our first year in competing in a BBQ competition. We had entered several Seasoning competitions, but this was the first real test of our products and cooking abilities used together against other teams. We entered one contest this year. It was a KCBS sanctioned event in North Platte, Nebraska. Out of 20 teams, we were fortunate to have placed 12th overall and even took home a ribbon with 7th place in Pork Rib! We had a great time and met a lot of neat people. The weather was horrific as we dealt with BIG winds and rain throughout the event. It was hard to keep the firebox at a constant temp for sure. We look forward to 2009 and meeting more great people in the BBQ world, as well as hopefully getting our names called! |
