The Naked Pig BBQ Company (NPBBQ) was started in 2004 out of a dream of two guys to produce quality BBQ Seasonings. Hawg Rub, the company's first product, was created by co-founder Chuck Taylor and had been used in his private kitchen for several years prior to the start of the company. While out west, Chuck made this product for friends and family and nicknamed it "Georgia Rub" in honor of his home state. Chuck later met co-founder Mike Brock, a BBQ fan and Restaurant operator for over 25 years, and started the company. In the Fall of 2005, the two friends decided to put Hawg Rub to the test by entering it in a BBQ Seasoning competition to see how it would do. Hawg Rub was entered into the Professional Division for Rubs at the International Fiery Foods Scovie Awards Contest and won First Place in their Division! They have since went on to win several other awards and the Naked Pig BBQ Company Competition Team made its debut in 2008 in North Platte, Nebraska in its first ever BBQ Competition. NPBBQ took 7th in Pork Rib and 12th overall in a KCBS sanctioned event. NPBBQ is very proud to announce that we are a Christian based company and strive to run our business under solid Biblical principles. Our Company's Mission Statement is found in Joshua 1:8: "This book of the law shall not depart ouf of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success." |
